Family Member of a burn survivor contacted Charity. Charity discussed her conversation and was reminded that Hope’s Journey has a need.
Young male 12 years old. Needs prayer. Young child in Shriners Sacramento can not go home because parents are unavailable.
Charity needs to write a book.
Charity is feeling discouraged.
Someone contacted Charity in regards to lack of vision from email, website etc.
Corporate Sole is most likely not an option because of the fact that it is structured for a church. No board is necessary. Removal from a level of accountability. Removal from government ties which is good. Charity will look into this more.
Rick looking into Waterstone – they are a non profit in which we could contact for information.
Kathy discussed ECFA
Discussion of financial accountability with organizations.
Rick wants us to be aware that our current administration may be involved in every facet of our lives. Sole Corp may not be the protection that we would want to consider.
Dave Reover – Charity will be attending October class in Colorado Springs. Charity has expressed to administration that she would like to work with the organization in an observational place.
There is still an avenue for help and direction from Roever’s organization.
Julie – discussion of what is the definition of what the book should be about. Who is the audience?
Key Prayer Points:
- God’s timing and divine appointments
· Wisdom in configuring the right Board.
· Wisdom in establishing godly, long-lasting constituents, structures and foundations for Hope’s Journey.
· Development of by laws, budgets, project plans to support growth and completion of appropriate non profit paperwork.
· Grace for me as I step out of my comfortable and familiar job, into this new full-time job that holds many uncertainties.
· Grace for Chris Gray, who is helping to facilitate the vision of Hope’s Journey.
· Provision for all the resources needed to begin to serve the needs of children who have been burn-injured or disabled through tragic circumstances and need a place to recuperate as well as learn the valuable skills that Hope’s Journey will offer.
Kathy took notes from Prayer meeting.

Charity explains current events –
Ouray – property encourage Charity to move into more of Hope’s Journey sooner than expected.
Covering ministry SRFM – Reason for movement to move into HJ as own 501(c)3 – Carrying weight of continuation with both SRFM and HJ – Lord told her to be singularly focused under HJ –
Currently – Chris and Charity attended Rural Philanthropy Days last week. Pairing of grant seekers and grant funders.
Time to start paperwork, find board, build foundations, establishing accountability measures etc.
Spoke to David Duran worked in Capital Ministries – insight into nonprofits. Advice to start smaller than the original idea to build to vision. Suggested a 2-3 month program on an annual basis. On a ranch, camp etc. Do a pilot project – with some outsource and start and learn from this project. Good way to move forward. Build accountability, fund raising, family involvement. Charity feels this is feasible.
Not certain it is God’s heart and direction.
Called meeting to catch up on the details.
Board – Christ Centered organization –
Dave Roever – Spoke at NightVision- last year – visited with Dave. Over comer and completely in love with Jesus – shared vision with Dave last year. Dave invited Charity to attend school. God has given her favor with Dave Roever. Something will work with that. Charity filled out application and Charity and Dave should connect.
Denver Children’s Hospital has a burn camp – in previous years there had not been a connection. Woman in charge just recently contacted Charity and invited her to camp.
Positive doors are starting to open.
Round Table of questions from attendees.
Schools may assist in payment of schooling purpose. (Tammy)
